PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Operate fabricating machinery and fabricate a variety of flat and irregular shaped parts for various product lines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS IN A TYPICAL 8-HOUR WORK.DAY, 5 DAYS A WEEK:

MAJOR DUTIES:

  1. Operate various size and types of sheet metal fabricating machinery such as shears, press brakes, punch presses, etc.
  2. Fabricate a variety of flat and irregular shaped parts for various product lines.
  3. Remove burrs, sharp corners, etc. from processed parts.
  4. Using hand truck, Lift truck, or overhead crane to move materials, parts, tools, etc. to and from storage, staging areas, or work station.
  5. Obtain first piece inspection.
  6. Read and interpret measuring devices.
  7. Perform daily lift truck inspections.
  8. Obtain first piece inspection approval and periodically visually inspect and I or gauge work for quality appearance and dimensional accuracy.
  9. Follow quality control standards to ensure meeting quality and quantity requirements.
  10. To maintain continuous movement of work, use a hand truck, lift truck, or overhead crane to move work to and from designated storage, staging areas, or workstation.
  11. Adhere to established safety rules and policies.
  12. Notify Supervisor or Safety Director of any unsafe acts or practice stopped.
  13. Meet quality and production standards.
  14. Keep work area neat and orderly on a daily basis.
  15. Keep Supervisor fully informed of any problems.
  16. Lockout/Tagout training.
  17. Lift Truck ce1tified.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Set up and operate various types of saws horizontal and ve1iical lathes, saws, And drill press equipment and perform various turning, drilling, taping, and boring operations on a variety of carbon and alloy steel plate for forging and stamping parts.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  1. Assist machine operators with set-up.
  2. Call up and run programs as needed. Some editing as required.
  3. Prototype production jobs.
  4. Aid tool room with tooling and fixtures for shop as needed.
  5. Replace or reface jaws as needed.
  6. Write own programs, edit as needed.
  7. Identify other tooling and fixture needs. Make as necessary.
  8. Work with tooling vendors to assess tools and make recommendations.
  9. Working from operational orders and / or part drawings, make necessary tool, speed and feed changes to accommodate varying size and configuration of parts.
  10.  Read and interpret measuring devices.
  11. Set-up and operate turret and chucking lathes and turn and bore various size diameters and holes.
  12. Set-up and operate single, multiple spindle, and radial drill press and drill, tap, bore, and counter bore through and blind holes.
  13. Diagnose problems encountered in making setups and running production to determine corrective action.
  14. Follow quality control standards to ensure meeting quality and quantity requirements.
  15. Maintain coolant, oils, hydraulic fluid, and monitor performance as instructed.
  16. Monitor consumable tooling and inform supervisor as appropriate.
  17. Accurately report work performed.
  18. Maintain identification of all parts and materials.
  19. Record locations of materials moved.
  20. Report abnormal machine operating conditions as soon as noticed.
  21. Perform daily lift truck inspections.
  22. Obtain first piece inspection approval and periodically visually inspect and / or gauge work for quality appearance and dimensional accuracies
  23. To maintain continuous movement of work, use hand truck, lift truck, or overhead crane to move work to and from designated storage, staging areas or work station
  24. Follow quality control standards to ensure meeting quality and quantity requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  1. Operate Overhead crane, Lift truck, or other material handling equipment to lift, transport and position loads; determine proper means and use appropriate chains, clamps, cables, etc. to safely secure loads; exercise extreme care and properly alert others when moving loads overhead or near work stations.
  2. Load and unload trucks properly and safely.
  3. When the Supervisor or receiving coordinator are not available, limited inspection to include;
  • Parts that can be checked with a tape measure to verify the correct size.
  • Pulling and checking packing slip.
  1. Service welders and machine operators in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Do safety checks on cable chain, chain clamps, and other crane equipment.
  3. Read and interpret tape measure.
  4. Prepare the items to be shipped by pack wrap, band or otherwise make up shipping containers.
  5. Attach proper identification to containers.
  6. Post details to packing slips, bills of lading, etc. indicating any shortages or irregularities.

Plan and perform mechanical, electrical and millwright maintenance duties as

Necessary to maintain facility, or to repair, move and install machinery.

DIRECTION EXERCISED:

Stop any unsafe act or practice. Give direction to any Maintenance Man or Maintenance Helper that is assisting on a particular job.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  1. Layout, service and install electrical services such as switch panels, fuse boxes, coils, limit switches, circuit boards, pumps, transformers, air conditioners, hydraulic systems, CRT’s, CNC Controls, etc.
  2. Work from project assignments or maintenance repair orders.
  3. Coordinate activities of Maintenance Person or Maintenance Helper assigned to the same job. Assist Maintenance Supervisor in coordinating assignments.
  4. Periodic retraining on applicable codes and standards, e.g. NEC.
  5. Perform assignments involving electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, etc.
  6. Work from general or detailed instructions or prescribed routines.
  7. Conduct preventative maintenance routines, oil and lubricate mechanical equipment, clean and replace filters, etc.
  8. Do carpentry work such as cut and rip wood to build pa1titions, repair floors, roofs, platforms, etc.
  9. Repair and/ or patch concrete floors, paint walls, etc.
  10. Repair and perform preventative maintenance on overhead cranes.
  11. Move and install non-electrical aspects of machinery or building equipment at ground level or overhead level that may require use of blocks, rollers, overhead crane, lift trucks, etc.
  12. Use welding equipment to weld, cut and braze to repair equipment or projects.
  13. Some plumbing work such as cut and thread pipe and install air, water or other types of piping transmissions, service sprinkler systems, etc.
  14. Troubleshoot and investigate operating problems, whether it is mechanical, plumbing or other, ensure their proper operation and function.
  15. Read and interpret measuring devices.
  16. Follow quality control standards to ensure meeting quality and quantity requirements.
  17. To maintain continuous movement of work, use hand truck, Lift truck or overhead crane to move work to and from designated storage, staging areas or workstation.
  18. Notify Supervisor or Safety Director of any unsafe act or practice stopped.
  19. Adhere to established safety rules and policies.
  20. Keep work area neat and clean on a daily basis.

NOTE: The job assignments of Maintenance Specialist& Maintenance Person will, on occasions, be similar or identical as far as required skills are concerned; except that employees classified as Maintenance Specialist will be capable & required to perform the more difficult & involved assignments; whereas the employees classified as Maintenance Person would only be capable & required to perform the more routine, repetitive or similar assignments. Newly hired or employees satisfactorily completing their formal training program would usually be classified as Maintenance Person.

Position Description:

Jaquith Industries is a world leader in airport lighting hardware.  We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Specialist to support & implement robotics, plasma, and laser technology. You will provide engineering and drafting support to the Sales Department, shop personnel, and other departments. You will generate estimates, material and parts lists, drawings, process sheets, jig and fixture designs.
